What if your life takes a Kafka-esque twist and you are sentenced to life without parole, owing to some case of mistaken identity or administrative error? I am not being funny... seriously asking!
It happens a lot in ME. and especially in this place. I have come across a person who works for the energy board and was on his to London for a training program, when he was stopped in the airport and was in custody for almost 3 days because of a system feed error. It was reported in the local media and till to date he hasn't been given a reason. So much for man's dependence on system and especially this region is awful. One little error and you are mistaken for someone else and that it's doomed. They wont accept your explanation, rather wait for the system!!! One way it is good but the other way it is really dumb.
THere are many episodes where people have been detained for errors committed by the system.
on a serious note...hmm..so many movies and books based on this ah? well i dont know - makes me think of that chekov story 'the bet'. Would he actually be liberated after living such a sentence?
